Most Expensive Car License Plates in the World

Would you buy a license plate number worth $14 million to be the "Best in the World"? Apparently, our number one most expensive plate in the world is owned by a businessman from a rich Abu Dhabi family. His name is Saeed Abdul Ghaffar Khouri. He purchased the number one from an auction that rose funds for a rehabilitation center for traffic accidents last 2008.

When asked by the media why he bought the car plate, he said "I bought it because it's the best number. I bought it because I want to be the best in the world." So literally there are actually people who would buy a car plate to be the best and they always do that and usually and mostly for good cause.

The second guy in our list is Mr. Talal Ali Mohammed Khoury, a stock broker from Dubai who was also from Abu Dhabi. Mr. Talal Ali Mohammed Khoury bought a plate with the number 5 in it last 2007. He paid around $6.2 million dollars for the car plate WOW. He bought it for the mere reason of charity and he mentioned that he knows that when he dies, it will be auctioned again and the money from that auction will again go to charity.We all must apppreciate that.

And the third on our list as the most expensive plate is the "F1 plate at , $700,000. This is owned by Mr. Afzal Khan from the UK. Mr. Khan stole the lead from Mr. Mike McCoombs last 2008, when he purchased this plate at a whopping 440,000, which makes it the most expensive number plate to ever be sold in Britain. Mr. Khan used the plate and attached it to his Mercedes SLR McLaren. He believes that it was a good deal and this plate may be worth even more.
